The name "Venus" is inspired by Botticelli's painting of the goddess of love Venus, who is blown ashore standing on a seashell.

Hans J. Wegner's sofa and armchair were created as a follow-up to his idea for an American competition in 1948.

The use of plywood in aircraft under World War II inspired Wegner for this series, which became his first furniture with shaped plywood shells.
The design of the chair is clearly divided into the load-bearing - the solid - plywood shells.
The set's small dimensions make it particularly suitable for small rooms and with its sculptural forms also for free positioning in the room.

The Designer Favourite!

The Multi-Lite was first drawn in 1972 when Louis Weisdorf did an exception to his own design custom of using multiple repeating elements. Instead it reflects his passion for diversity. The Multi-Lite pendant has two individual rotating shades and can be transformed into multiple combinations where the light can be directed upwards, downwards or exude an assymetrical art light. The lamp is available in different colors and all the shades are white lacquered inside.
